CHRISTMAS EDITION

Find the perfect gift and support local businesses all at the same time with the #LangleyFresh Christmas Gift Box. Featuring an assortment of carefully curated products, all sourced from the Township of Langley, the Gift Boxes will be available for purchase on our website starting November 22nd. Each box will be brimming with the following unique products:

BC BUZZ HONEY: CREAMED CLOVER HONEY (170G)

BC Buzz Honey is a small batch specialty honey processor base in Langley. Owned and created by Kris Friesen and Chris Davies, these two have gone from great friends to even better partners. They carry raw honey products as well as unpasteurized honey from across Western Canada. Find your favourite variety of honey at the Honey Hut or at over 200 stores around the Lower Mainland.

Product: Clover honey is the most common and abundant honey in Canada. It has a sweet and rich flavour but is also very neutral tasting making it perfect as a replacement for sugar in coffee or tea as well as cooking and baking. Creamed Clover Honey is white in color with a wonderful, sweet taste.

BLACKSMITH BAKERY: WHIPPED SHORTBREAD COOKIES 3-PACK

Blacksmith Bakery creates real food using traditional artisanal methods, baked fresh daily, on-site, in their open kitchen using locally sourced and seasonal ingredients. The hand forged viennoiserie, patisserie, cakes, eclairs, tarts, cookies, savouries, soups and gourmet sandwiches crafted by their passionate team are worth the trip. Visit them at one of their locations in Fort Langley, Langley Regional Airport or Willoughby (opening in 2022).

Product: Made with love from the Blacksmith kitchen, these shortbreads are perfect for sharing, or having yourself in one sitting. Either way there is a good chance these melt-in-your-mouth treats won’t last long!

DRIEDIGER FARMS MARKET: HOMESTYLE JAM (550G)

Driediger Farms Market has been your destination for delicious BC Strawberries, Blueberries, Blackberries, Raspberries and Red Currants since the early 1960’s. Although their farm has grown over the years, they continue to bring the community the best of BC berries, both in their market and from their U-pick fields. ELAINE BREWER-WHITE CERAMICS: HOLIDAY CLAY ORNAMENT

For over 35 years, Elaine Brewer-White has been creating unique and beautiful designs, solely out of clay. Elaine graduated from the Emily Carr College of Art and Design back in 1986; since then, Elaine has continued to astound us all with public gallery installations and shows, outdoor murals, and private commissions of her versatile medium techniques.

Product: Last year, Elaine created adorable toque ornaments for our Christmas Gift Box. This year, she knocked it out of the park and designed a beautiful ornament capturing the meaning of Christmas that will be a perfect addition to your tree!

 

JD FARMS SPECIALTY TURKEY: POULTRY BRINE & $10 GIFT CARD

Jack & Debbie Froese are the founders of JD Farms Specialty Turkey Farm, a family-run producer of specialty turkeys. For over thirty years, JD Farms Specialty Turkey has been offering a diverse range of nutritious and wholesome meal solutions in the traditional country-style deli and bistro, as well as supplying whole turkeys to families and retailers in the Metro Vancouver and Fraser Valley regions. MARJORIE ZEIGER: CEDAR ROSE PIN

Marjorie Zeiger is a Kwantlen First Nation elder, affectionately known as Auntie Marg. She works as the elder at Kwantlen Headstart and is the great, great granddaughter of Grand Chief Wattlekanium. She carries the traditional name of one of Wattlekanium’s daughters, Quyalstate. Marg enjoys weaving cedar roses and pine needle baskets.

Product: Cedar traditionally had a number of purposes to the Coast Salish people; one was to provide protection. These cedar roses are made into broches and are harvested from cedar bark, with an added Christmas twist.

SABÀ CAFE & BISTRO: ESPRESSO BLEND BY REPUBLICA COFFEE ROASTERS (1/2 LB) & GINGERBREAD COOKIE

THE BOG RIVERSIDE CRANBERRY FARM: CRANBERRY SAUCE (280ML)

With a rich family history in farming, in 2010 Brian and Mandy Dewit continued the tradition by creating their own cranberry farm. THE BOG Riverside Cranberry Farm includes 35 acres of planted cranberry fields located just outside of Fort Langley, in the beautiful Glen Valley area. A decade later – together with their 5 children – they continue to be passionate about growing high quality fruit as well as sharing it with the local community. During the visually stunning cranberry harvest season which runs from late September to mid-October, THE BOG sells fresh fruit directly off the farm at a roadside stand as well as in the local farmers market and small specialty grocery stores across the Lower Mainland. Year round, they are also proud to offer delicious farm to table products made from their cranberries that are available for purchase online, at the farm and through retail partners.

Product: All of the straight up goodness of the cranberries with a tangy finish. The BOG’s Cranberry Sauce contains whole cooked berries for a homestyle sauce rich in flavour and colour. It is also lower in sugar compared to jelly varieties!

PURCHASE & PICK-UP

The Langley Fresh Christmas Gift Box is $85 (including taxes) and can be purchased at online here starting Monday, November 15th. Pick up is available as of Wednesday, December 1st. $5.00 from every box will be donated to the stɑl̓əw̓ Arts & Cultural Society.

The Tourism Langley office is open for box pick up from Monday – Friday from 9am – 5pm for you or a friend to come pick up your order. The last day of availability for box pick up will be Wednesday, December 22nd.

There is plenty of parking available at the new Langley Airport Tower where the Tourism Langley office is located. Once you enter the front doors of our building you can either walk up the stairs or take the elevator to the second floor. Both the stairs and elevator bring you right to our door. It is a glass wall so we should see you but if not, knock and we will bring your box to the door. Masks are mandatory when entering the building and office.
