Learn how to make paint from natural materials using pigments made from wildfire ash with Liz Toohey-Wiese.
All ages. No previous experience required.
In this workshop, participants will explore their climate feelings and anxieties about an uncertain future while holding space for ecological joy and connection to nature. Participants will learn to make paint from natural materials and work with pigment made from wildfire ash collected from burns across so-called British Columbia. Together, we will create a collaborative paper quilt, with participants taking home a container of their own wildfire ash paint to continue their artistic explorations with this material.
