Stɑl'əw̓ Pow Wow

stɑl’əw̓ Pow Wow

The sound of the drums. Hundreds of dancers in vibrant regalia. Indigenous artists, makers, food vendors, and three days of culture, community, and connection.

The fifth annual stɑl’əw̓ Pow Wow returns to Langley from September 11 to 13, welcoming visitors of all ages to experience one of the region’s most meaningful cultural celebrations. Hosted by the Indigenous women-led stɑl’əw̓ Arts & Cultural Society, the Pow Wow brings together Nations from across British Columbia, Canada, and the United States to honour traditions through song, dance, drumming, and storytelling.

If it’s your first Pow Wow, you’re welcome here.

Throughout the weekend, you’ll have the opportunity to watch spectacular Grand Entries, browse a vibrant Indigenous vendors market, enjoy Indigenous cuisine, and experience traditional and contemporary performances. Saturday is typically the busiest day of the weekend, with the evening Grand Entry bringing hundreds of dancers into the arena in a powerful celebration of culture and community.

The event is family-friendly, alcohol- and drug-free, and encourages visitors to learn, ask questions, and experience Indigenous culture in a respectful and welcoming environment.
