Formerly known as ROOTED, Nene is a small-group culinary and cultural gathering led by Sayisi Dene Chef Sarah Meconse Mierau of Tradish.
Guests spend an unhurried afternoon around the table with Sarah, learning about plants and the knowledge she chooses to share, creating their own tea blend, and enjoying a seasonal lunch together. The experience is shaped by conversation, food, story and Sarah’s relationship with the land.
Nene means land, earth or territory in Sarah’s language.
The September 26 gathering takes place at Tradish: The Ancestor Café at Fort Langley National Historic Site and is the final Fort Langley date currently scheduled before Nene enters its next chapter.
