Photos with the Easter Bunny

April 4-19, hop on down to Willowbrook Shopping Centre to have your child’s photo taken with the Easter Bunny. Easter on the Farm

Come on down to the farm this Easter Long Weekend and visit with all our animal friends, there will be babies galore! Save the Bunnies: Charity Easter Egg Hunt

Celebrate spring! Join us this Easter Sunday for our annual Easter Celebration at our picturesque south Langley winery. Have fun with the whole family with an Easter Egg Hunt in the vineyard as well as Easter goodies in support of the Small Animal Rescue Society (formerly BC Rabbit Rescue). Bring a picnic and enjoy brunch in the the vineyards. Take in the live music and a glass of wine or two while the kids frolic for the afternoon. Remember to bring some carrots for Cucumber and the other bunnies from the Rescue Society who are hopping over to join us for the day… Bring blankets & chairs, as seating is limited. Easter Egg Hunt at the Fort Langley National Historic Site

Don your Easter bonnets for our 2nd Annual Easter Egg Scavenger Hunt. Enjoy the relaxed atmosphere of the Fort, where every child, ages 16 and under, will receive a treat after completing their Scavenger Hunt adventure. The hunt will take place around the grounds within the fort walls all day from 10am to 5pm. For children ages 5 and under, a special Easter Egg Hunt will take place at 11am, 1pm and 3pm sharp – be sure to arrive early at the Visitor Centre to ensure you do not miss the start of the scramble. Parka – our Parks Canada mascot, fluffy bunnies and baby chicks will make an appearance! Regular admission fees apply; free for annual pass holders.

The Wizard of Oz

April 24 - May 3 Langley Fundamental Middle and Secondary School proudly presents the "Wizard of Oz". The Wizard of Oz follows the story of Dorothy, a young girl who has an "out of this world" experience when she falls into the mysterious Land of Oz. As she tries to find the way back to her home in Kansas, she meets up with a scarecrow without a brain, a tin man missing a heart, a lion lacking courage, and a witch who will stop at nothing to prevent her from reaching the only one who may be able to help: the Wizard of Oz! The performances feature a full stage with special effects, massive set and costume changes, solo and ensemble singing, and a really cute dog playing Toto! Follow the Yellow Brick Road to the Land of Oz! Eight performances running from April 24 - 26, and May 1 - 3, 7pm nightly, with additional matinees (1pm) on Saturdays. Simple Cures with Chef Karen Barnaby

Food curing dates back to ancient times, both in the form of smoked meat and salt-cured meat. Curing is the use of some combination of salt, sugar, nitrite and/or nitrate for the purposes of preservation, flavor and color. Cure ingredients can be rubbed on to the food surface, mixed into foods dry (dry curing), or dissolved in water (brine, wet, or pickle curing). Salmon “Pastrami” – gravlax style cured salmon with a pastrami flavor. Tonight Chef Karen raises the bar and talks about the when, how, what of curing. This is going to be fun! In this first class you will receive a Victorinox Chef’s Knife and an Epicurean Cutting Board; after all, you need to have good tools to do a good job. 2014 Scotiabank MS Walk

The MS Society of Canada is inviting Langley to lace up their shoes once again for the 2014 Scotiabank MS Walk. This annual fundraiser mashes a community of teams together – whether corporate, familial, or a team of close friends – to help end multiple sclerosis. What many of the past Walkers know is that MS is a threefold problem: it has no known cause, cure, and limited methods of symptom treatment. That is why this year the MS Society wants YOU to join the fight. Starting and finishing at Douglas Park, this year's Scotiabank MS Walk will linclude two routes: Walkers can choose to follow a 3 km or a more challenging 6 km route. Back at the finish area, participants can enjoy snacks and refreshments, music, family-friendly activities and great company. KPU Langley will be transformed into a spectacular science experience where the public will get a chance to participate in hands-on experiments, walk through interactive science labs and state-of-the-art greenhouses and see a demonstration of the high-tech patient simulators in the nursing labs. Free to the public! Science Rendezvous is a public platform to promote science awareness and increase science literacy in Canada. The event is an annual day-long festival spanning multiple simultaneous sites across the country, designed to bring science face-to-face with the public and encourages more youth to consider science and engineering-related careers and study paths. During our inaugural event last year, over 550 visitors came into KPU to check out the experiments, displays and labs.
