Mathew Silverman & A Night of Classical Guitar
A night full of great music for a great cause! The Langley Hospice Society is hosting a benefit concert which will be taking place on May 23, 2015 at Frosting Cupcakery & Bake Shop - 20411 Fraser Hwy, Langley. Doors open at 6:30pm and the event begins at 7:00pm. Matthew Silverman and the Tres Guitarras will be preforming throughout the night. In addition to the classical guitarist there will be a Silent Auction, Wine Tasting by Kalala Organic Estate Winery, and Food & Beverage for Purchase. This concert will raise funds for the Langley Hospice Society. Tickets are $30.00 and must be purchased in advance. Langley Community Chorus will present their Spring 2015 Concert titled “THANK YOU FOR THE MUSIC”. All of the music in the concert was chosen by Music Director Anita Comba to soothe and uplift, as well as being very unusual and entertaining. The concert will feature wonderful songs performed in the native languages of Russia, Spain, Zulu South Africa, Nigeria and Zambia. There will also be several well known popular songs from Canada and the United States. The 80 voice Chorus will be joined by Langley composer and professional Marimba and percussion musician Mr. Bruce Henczel. They will sing some of his unique original compositions. Willoughy Community CHILD Day Event

Bard in the Valley Presents Love's Labour's Lost.

Bard in the Valley (BIV) is presenting Shakespeare’s Love’s Labour’s Lost on three outdoor stages in Langley this summer. The play opens on Canada Day in Fort Langley for the first of two performances, then moves to the Township 7 Winery for five performances. The play will then be performed on the theatre company’s home stage, the Spirit Square Stage in downtown Langley, on: July 23, 24, 25 & 26 and July 30, 31, August 1 & 2. This is BIV’s sixth season, presenting lively Shakespearean classics. There is no charge for admission for the performances in Fort Langley and on the Spirit Square Stage. 14th Annual Erikson's Daylily Gardens Open House
Saturday and Sunday July 11th and 12th, 10 am to 4pm each day. Come and visit the gardens at peak bloom time and see thousands of daylilies, lilies, hostas, rare and unusual trees, shrubs and perennials! Local garden-related exhibitors will be on hand as well as the VanDusen Master Gardeners to answer your questions, the Aldergrove Daylily Society and their fun raffle, and the soft sounds of Judy Henry playing her harp. This yearly event is to help support local charities - this year the BC Childrens Hospital and the Langley Christmas Bureau. Admission is by donation.
