Experience good times at the many festivals and events held year round in Langley. Watch the arts and culture come alive at the annual Cranberry Festival in October, or the International Festival in August. The spirit of the community really shines on special occasions whether Langley is celebrating Canada or the Magic of Christmas. Upcoming Events 

Bard in the Valley Presents Love's Labour's Lost.

July 1 - August 2
Bard in the Valley (BIV) is presenting Shakespeare’s Love’s Labour’s Lost on three outdoor stages in Langley this summer. The play opens on Canada Day in Fort Langley for the first of two performances, then moves to the Township 7 Winery for five performances. The play will then be performed on the theatre company’s home stage, the Spirit Square Stage in downtown Langley, on: July 23, 24, 25 & 26 and July 30, 31, August 1 & 2. This is BIV’s sixth season, presenting lively Shakespearean classics. There is no charge for admission for the performances in Fort Langley and on the Spirit Square Stage. Come and bring your friends, family and a picnic and enjoy this free, outdoor theatrical experience.

A week at Imagine That! Productions Drama Camp gives young people (8-16 yrs) the opportunity to use their imagination, creativity, and performance expression within a focused and structured curriculum. Drama Camp covers acting, improv/theatre sports games, voice and movement as well as working on the development of a play that will be presented for family and friends on the Friday afternoon; all campers will be given a role in the play! With a lot of fun games and creative activities spread throughout each day, committed Drama Campers will gain confidence and self-esteem.

Make something beautiful from a block of clay! Have fun handbuilding clay into functional and decorative forms with coils, slabs, and tools! Each person will begin with a 2.5 kg block of air dry clay (more can be purchased at the studio) and a collection of hand tools. Bring photos for inspiration to design and build your own unique piece. You can make a vase or bowl, sculpt an animal or decorative trinket box, or build anything you can imagine! Fireside Concerts presents Cecile Doo-Kingue Trio

A Day of Pos-Abilities

Saturday, July 11 at 11:00am - 3:00pm Douglas Park (Langley) 5409 206 Street "A Day of Pos-Abilities" is our premier annual showcase event. Designed to promote understanding, inclusion and enthusiasm about issues that face people with disabilities. We are planning displays which will include: • attractive, interesting items for sale in our Marketplace, • a selection of mouth-watering food, • entertainment -- something for everyone, • a performers merchandise tent, • displays and personnel from other organizations, • and an area for fun and educational children's activities.

Butterfly Tea Party

July 11
Head to the Campbell Valley Nature house between 1:00pm-4:00pm on Saturday July 11th to celebrate butterfly season in the wildlife garden, with tea, stories, crafts and butterfly enthusiasts. Allow one hour.

14th Annual Erikson's Daylily Gardens Open House

July 11
Saturday and Sunday July 11th and 12th, 10 am to 4pm each day. Come and visit the gardens at peak bloom time and see thousands of daylilies, lilies, hostas, rare and unusual trees, shrubs and perennials! Local garden-related exhibitors will be on hand as well as the VanDusen Master Gardeners to answer your questions, the Aldergrove Daylily Society and their fun raffle, and the soft sounds of Judy Henry playing her harp. This yearly event is to help support local charities - this year the BC Childrens Hospital and the Langley Christmas Bureau. Admission is by donation. Please note that these are private gardens, so sadly we are unable to accommodate wheelchairs, strollers and walkers. Children are welcome but must be kept with you at all times. No pets please.

George Preston Farmer's Market

July 11 - September 6
Where do you go to find locally grown produce and crafted goods? The Farm & Maker Market held in Brookswood is where you go to find locally made item and fresh grown foods this summer. Market days are July 11th, July 25th, August 9th, August 22nd and September 6th. The Market is located in George Preston Recreation Centre from 1:00pm till 6:00pm.

Pancake Breakfast

Critter Care's Open House

On Saturday and Sunday, July 11 + 12, Critter Care Wildlife will be hosting an Open House Fundraising Event and we would love for you to join us!Admission for Adults: $2, Kids free! Canada's Parks Day: Brae Island Paddle and Pedal

Come try your skill in a kayak on the Bedford Channel or be part of a group paddling a 12-seat voyageur canoe. Enjoy campsite activities at Fort Camping or pedal a four-wheel bicycle on a skills circuit. Brae Island Regional Park, 1:00-3:00pm All equipment provided. Open Air Sale

On Saturday July 18th, from 11am to 3pm for shopping in Downtown Langley! Fantastic sales will once again be happening both out doors and in-stores as part of the 2015 Open Air Sale. This is the perfect opportunity to shop local, discover hidden gems, and uncover a great bargain or two. Enjoy all sorts of great entertainment including the popular Discover Downtown Scavenger Hunt. Farm Fresh Bus Tour

Join LEPS for an intimate tour highlighting the importance of our local food system. Participants will board a bus and visit local farms while learning why it’s important to support and sustain our local growers. A locally-sourced lunch will be provide. Hot Rod Sunday at Willowbrook

The British Columbia Hot Rod Association will be holding Hot Rod Sunday at Willowbrook Shopping Centre from 10am to 4pm on Sunday, July 19 on the northwest parking lot of the centre (near Toys R Us). There will be up to 200 hot rods, vintage, classic, and custom cars and trucks showcased at this free public event! Come check out the vehicles, plus enjoy an awards presentation, musical entertainment, 50/50 raffle, door prize draws, food and automotive-related vendor sales taking place all day! Ride Into History

The goal of the Ride into History is to celebrate motorcycling while raising awareness for homelessness. Proceeds from the event go to The Salvation Army Gateway of Hope who recognize that all people have histories and are working towards bettering their futures.

Brigade Days

August 1 - August 3
Join HBC workers, Aboriginal traders, and trappers as they swap stories, play music, and show off traditional skills such as carding and spinning wool and open fire cooking. The weekend features a large period encampment, and the “Arrival of the Fur Brigades” canoe re-enactment at 1 pm Monday. Regular admission, free for annual pass holders.

Civic Holiday at Chaberton Winery

Darla & Roy will be singing up a storm! Two food trucks, "Hot Grandma's Kitchen" and "Casalinga Carts", will be here and they'll both be open for business in our parking lot! Pick up s bottle of your favourite wine from our Wine Shop to enjoy with the food and music. A selection of gourmet cheeses, pates, cold cuts, crackers and chocolates will also be available in the Wine Shop.

MEC Langley Sprint Triathlon

August 9
MEC Langley is very excited to be hosting the triathlon again, on Sunday August 9th, after such a successful inaugural event! This short format (sprint distance) tri is ideal for those looking to complete their first multi-sport event, as well as a great training event for experienced triathletes. The event starts at the WC Blair Recreation Centre in Langley with a 750m pool swim. A rolling start will ensure participants have plenty of space for the swim. The cycling leg is a 20km route that heads south toward the US border and the quiet, mostly flat rural roads of the Langley area. The run segment is a 5km out-and-back that heads west of WC Blair. This event will be chip-timed to ensure accurate results for each finisher, with medals for top male and female finishers in each age category. Participants must be 16 years of age or older.

MEC Langley Duathlon

August 9
MEC Langley is very excited to be adding a duathlon to the triathlon event on Sunday August 9th. The event starts at the WC Blair Recreation Centre in Langley with a 5k run, followed by a 20k cycling leg that heads south toward the US border and the quiet, mostly flat rural roads of the Langley area. After completing the cycling portion, there will be another 5k run repeating the same course as the initial 5k. The run segment is a 5km out-and-back that heads west of WC Blair. 22nd Annual Arts Alive Festival

On Saturday August 15th from 10am to 5pm marks the 22nd Annual Arts Alive Festival. With over 200 visual and performing artists, our festival has become a signature event in the lower mainland. This free, family event features live musical performances, artists and artisans showcasing a myriad of mediums, live demonstrations, a children's venue and special performance surprises throughout the day!

Campbell Valley Wine Route Summer Wine Fest

August 16
Join us the four wineires of the Campbell Valley Wine Route (Backyard, Chaberton, Township 7 and Vista d'oro) for a fun filled afternoon in the Campbell Valley's very own wine region. Each winery will host guests to live music, complementary culinary offerings and tastings of their newest releases. Starting at noon until 4pm on August 16th!

Bicycle Trek for Life & Breath

10th Annual BBQ OFF the Bypass

The 2nd Annual Christmas Show
