Bucket List Tour

This 2-day festival starts at 10:00 am Saturday May 25 with a PARADE through downtown Aldergrove. The SATURDAY opening ceremonies of the Pacific Regional FireFit Event commence at 12:30 pm at Philip Jackman Park (32 Ave and 271 St). FireFit is an exciting, action-packed competition for firemen based on fire-fighting tasks commonly performed in emergency situations. There is lots of free entertainment and food vendors for families on both days, plus an Awards Dinner & Dance for adults Saturday evening. SUNDAY’s events include a morning SOAP BOX DERBY for ages 5 to 13 years, a CRAZY WHEELS RACE for adults, and more FireFit racing to determine the Pacific Regional FireFit champion.

In this first class you will receive a Victorinox Santoku Knife and an Epicurean Cutting Board; after all, you need to have good tools to do a good job. Chef will guide you through the proper techniques of knife use, choosing the right knife for the right job, and learning the basics on sharpening, maintenance, care and storage. By the end of class, all those vegetables you skilfully chopped will end up in a delicious soup for you to enjoy. *The knife and the cutting board are yours to keep!

A Musical Menagerie !

The Langley Community Chorus 2013 Spring Concert is titled "A Musical Menagerie!" This Musical Menagerie will consist of an entire programme of songs about our friends the animals. 2013 Special Olympics BC Summer Games

July 11 - July 14
From July 11 to 14, more than 1,100 athletes with intellectual disabilities will converge on Langley from communities all across B.C. and the Yukon to give their best and go for gold in 11 sports. Supported by 400 coaches as well as their friends and family cheering them on, they will light up Langley on the July weekend. More than 1,000 volunteers will be needed as well.

Open House at Erikson's Daylily Gardens

The Annual Open House Event at Erikson’s Daylily Gardens. This year the regular exhibitors will be back, including Select Roses, Tuscan Farm Gardens, Buds N Petals, the Van Dusen Master Gardeners, our glass artists and more. Of course, the Aldergrove Daylily Society members will be on hand with their fun draw and club tent, and renowned harpist, Judy Henry, will be providing light music in the garden. Admission is by donation, with proceeds to help local charities. This year, our chosen charity is again the rebuilding fund for the BC Childrens Hospital. Last year, we were thrilled to hand over $1,600 to this charity and hope to better that this time! Please remember that these are private gardens and unfortunately are not wheelchair, walker or stroller accessible. We love to see visitors coming to enjoy the garden and appreciate your not bringing pets. Children are welcome, but must be kept with you at all times as these are hybridizing gardens. Bard in the Vineyard: A Comedy of Errors

Experience the Bard at your neighbourhood winery this summer! See the popular Shakespearean play, A Comedy of Errors, performed live in Township 7′s picturesque south Langley vineyard. Enjoy the Bard’s hilarious story of mistaken identity paired with brilliant dialogue and Township 7′s award-winning wine, all in a breathtaking setting. The winery is delighted to partner with Bard in the Valley on this alfresco production. The play tells the story of two sets of identical twins that were accidentally separated at birth. Antipholus of Syracuse and his servant, arrive in Ephesus, which turns out to be the home of their twin brothers. When the Syracusans encounter the friends and families of their twins, a series of wild mishaps based on mistaken identities lead to wrongful beatings, a near-seduction, arrest, and false accusations of infidelity, theft, madness, and demonic possession. The 2013 Prospera Valley GranFondo (160km), MedioFondo (88km), and PrestoFondo (50km), will be held on July 21st. Take part in the largest mass-participation cycling event in the Fraser Valley of BC! The Fraser Valley, long known as the road cycling mecca of British Columbia is once again the location for what will become one of Canada’s premier cycling events. The Prospera Valley GranFondo will be centered in the historic village of Fort Langley.

The weekend of August 3 & 4, 2013 will see our village transformed into a toe-tapping tapestry of tunes as well as of other creative performances and varieties of artistic expression. Located on a bed of gravel,sand and silt borrowed from the Fraser river, surrounded by a flood-plain likewise borrowed from time, our Village, known as ‘The Birthplace of British Columbia’ is the perfect historical setting for such an event.

Bucket List Tour

August 11
Come Milk a Cow by hand and cross it off your bucket list! This 75 minute guided tour includes many hands on activities at our family dairy farm. Butter making, feeding the cows, and chocolate milk sampling are also included. Kids also get an activity book. Admission: $9 per person (children under 2 are free!) $40 per family Cash only please. No need to reserve… drop in at 2 PM.

Arts Alive Festival

August 17
With over 200 visual and performing artists, our festival has become a signature event in the lower mainland. This free, family event features live musical performances, artists and artisans showcasing a myriad of mediums, live demonstrations, a children's venue and special performance surprises throughout the day! 10am-5pm. Langley's International Festival

August 24 - August 25
Included in this two-day event are such things as: performing artists, ethnic cuisine, international marketplace, numerous pavilions which showcase interests for children, seniors, and healthy community living, cultural art gallery, live Shakespearian performances from Bard in the Valley, soccer tournament, beer & wine garden, dog show, pony rides and much more taking place at the Willoughby Community Park.

BBQ on the Bypass

September 15
The 8th annual BBQ on the Bypass will take place on Sunday, September 15th from 10 am – 5 pm at 20771 Langley Bypass in Langley, B.C. The event is FREE to the public with live music, interesting displays, tasty vendors and delicious BBQ samples. The BBQ on the Bypass is also the site of the Great BC Bake Off, an annual amateur pie baking competition, open to the public.
