Bard in the Vineyard

When a local drama group partners with a local vineyard for an alfresco production of Shakespeare you get – Bard in the Vineyard. Over a couple of weekends in July, Township 7′s picturesque South Langley vineyard will be the stage for Bard in the Valley’s performance of A Midsummer Night’s Dream directed by Darcy J. Knopp.

Sitting amongst the vines while enjoying a bottle of one of the new summer release wines is a great way to spend a few hours. Evening performances start at 7:15pm and matinee shows start at 2:00pm. There will be chairs for all ticket holders. Picnic area will open 1.5 hours before showtime. Pack a picnic basket, grab a bottle of wine and enjoy the show.

Bard in the Valley celebrates the good works of William Shakespeare by performing his plays. They aim to entertain, educate and honour the timeless stories of the Bard by offering 16 performances at three outdoor venues in Greater Langley each summer. Since the group’s inception in 2010, Bard in the Valley has presented a Shakespearean production every summer. More than 19,000 people have come to see BIV’s performances in Fort Langley on the lawn in front of the historic community hall, at the Township 7 Winery, and on the Spirit Square Stage in Douglas Park in Langley City.
