The Origin of ‘Brunch’ & Where You Can Get it in Langley

According to a quick search on Wikipedia, the term ‘brunch’ was probably coined in Britain in 1835 in an article by Guy Beringer. I like what he had to say, and agree with his thoughts regarding this late-morning meal.

By eliminating the need to get up early on Sunday, brunch would make life brighter for Saturday-night carousers. It would promote human happiness in other ways as well.

Brunch is cheerful, sociable and inciting.

It is talk-compelling.

It puts you in a good temper,

it makes you satisfied with yourself and your fellow beings,

it sweeps away the worries and cobwebs of the week.”

Well, that sounds good to me. I knew there was a reason that Sunday brunch was my favourite meal of the week. Here is a list of some great brunch spots in the Langley’s. We would love to hear from you about which is your favourite, and if we’re missing any please fill us in!
