The 34th Annual Old Fashioned Fall Fair Country Celebration

The 34th Annual Old Fashioned Fall Fair Country Celebration at Campbell Valley Regional Park is a great way to relive your childhood memories of farm animals, Ferris wheels, and funnel cakes.  This September I did just that.  The live music was fantastic as long as you enjoy some good country tunes, and the food vendors were just what you’d expect with the traditional freshly squeezed lemonade, kettle corn, and Ukrainian hut.

The livestock barn provided the opportunity to learn all you wanted to about know about chickens, and you could even meet and pet the llamas and miniature horses.  The ever important fair vendors bring an array of interesting booths to meander through.

Local artisans showcase their stained glass, quilting and harvest decorations in addition to those that are selling produce, plants and treats for dessert.  Picking up a piece of freshly made warm cinnamon bannock while perusing through the old farm machinery and equipment as part of the Langley Centennial Museum’s display, learning about honeybees and the work that the Langley Environmental Partners Society does is delicious, relaxing and informative all at the same time.

Everyone’s favourite – Cotton Candy.

You can even paint your own clay bowl and have it fired in the kiln right before your very eyes! There is always something for the kids to do at the fall fair; whether it’s practicing cow milking techniques, searching for fresh eggs in a pretend chicken coop or just romping in the hay, there’s no question that they will be entertained for hours.  Revert to simpler times, reminisce in childhood memories and enjoy the beauty of autumn in the Fraser Valley at a popular local festival.
