Halloween Events & Traditions

Categories: Activities & Recreation, Agritourism, Heritage & Culture, Wine & Food

Halloween is a time to dress up as your favourite character. Costumes range from a Disney Princess, Superhero to a Minion. It is also a time to get scared out of your skin from the haunted houses you go to or scary movies you watch! As I little girl, I always loved dressing up. For a couple years in a row, I was a black cat. Why two years in a row as a black cat? I just loved being a black cat so why not wear it as many Halloween’s as possible!

Recommendations for how to spend an autumn day in Langley, British Columbia

Categories: Activities & Recreation, Itineraries, Shopping & Services, Wine & Food

September 23rd is the fall equinox. I await this day with anticipation every year. It’s the day that I can begin enjoying all things autumn-related, without being judged by my friends. “The PSL comes out way too early”, “It’s not pumpkin season yet”, “Boot weather isn’t for another month”, “Why don’t you wait until Thanksgiving to make pie” are some of the comments they make. For a reason that I cannot fathom, they just don’t understand fall like I do.

Trails around Langley

Categories: Activities & Recreation, Heritage & Culture

We have been lucky over the last couple days to escape the Pineapple Express rain and enjoy the sunny skies that come afterwards. Unlike the blizzard happening in the Eastern part of Canada, it looks like the weather will remain nice and sunny for the start of the weekend. Why not get out and enjoy the weather by visiting some of the parks and trails located in your own backyard.

Why attending a Vancouver Stealth game at the LEC is a must do for 2015

Category: Activities & Recreation

Saturday January 10th marked the opening home game for the Vancouver Stealth as they hosted the Toronto Rock at the Langley Events Centre. I attend a lot of sports and cultural events and from the onset to beyond the final whistle, my experience watching this match will have me back and bringing my friends a few more times this season. Below I break down why it’s a must for both avid and casual sports fans in the lower mainland and Langley.

Resolve to Make like a Tourist – In your own Town!

Categories: Activities & Recreation, Agritourism, Heritage & Culture, Shopping & Services, Wine & Food

Starting tomorrow you’ll have to start remembering to date things 2015 instead of 2014. With a new year, comes new resolutions, new goals, and new schedules. If you’re anything like me, you probably want to set some new year’s resolutions for yourself, but aren’t quite sure where to start. In my experience, setting big grandiose resolutions are great, but the smaller, more realistic ones tend to be much easier to keep and are often much more satisfying in the end.

Tea for Two (or more!)

Categories: Shopping & Services, Wine & Food

It began with a drive to Fort Langley. I don’t know about you, but I know that it is going to be a good day when it begins with a drive to Fort Langley. When I reach the intersection at 88th Avenue and Glover Road I always feel like I’ve entered into some other world, a historic realm, where everything seems to go at a more leisurely and peaceful pace. Sure, you might have to circle once, or twice, to find a parking spot, but when the view is this quaint I don’t mind the extra drive.
