Conveniently located 40 minutes from Vancouver at the hub of the Fraser Valley, Langley has easy access to the Canada/US border, BC Ferry Terminals and Vancouver and Abbotsford International Airports. Langley provides the ultimate in urban amenities, yet is committed to upholding its agricultural history. The community has grown over the past 150 years into a thriving urban center surrounded by a rich agricultural community. A strong heritage is present throughout Langley, with national historic sites and museums; and exciting attractions including the Greater Vancouver Zoo, Canadian Museum of Flight and Cascades Casino to provide an urban experience.

Langley’s exceptional sport facilities, diverse accommodations, mild West-Coast climate and outstanding support and services make it an ideal destination for a variety of sporting events. Committed community sport volunteers and experienced recreation staff ensure each sport event held in Langley is an unparalleled experience for all those involved.

A Hosting Event Kit is available to those needing additional tools and equipment to ensure the ease of delivery of a successful event. The Hosting Event Kit is designed to ease the cost and availability of necessary supplies that may be required for event organizers.  The Hosting Event Kit is enhanced by branded 10×10 and 20×20 marquee tents and are available for event use at a minimal cost upon availability.

Event Grant and Sponsorship Program, 2019-2020

Overview

Tourism Langley’s Grant and Sponsorship program is designed to support new or existing festivals and events held within the Township of Langley.  This program aims to encourage our stakeholders to build partnerships, combine resources, and create new tourism opportunities that increase local tourism revenue, visitation, and economic benefits within the Township of Langley.

All applicants should have the financial resources to execute their event without additional funding support from Tourism Langley.  Successful applicants must direct their awarded funding towards new marketing initiatives.  Applicants must apply on an annual basis, as there are no multi-year commitments at this time.  All applications will be reviewed on a first come first serve basis.

**Should your application be received after the due date, it will still be reviewed, however, applications received within the required dates are given priority**

 

Criteria

The Event, Grant, and Sponsorship program is intended to:

  • Encourage year-round applications, however, preference will be given to applications with event dates between October through April, which also include overnight visitation (the need for hotel rooms) within the Township of Langley.
  • Support events which contribute to the broader well-being of the community, encouraging new daytime visitation within the Township of Langley
  • Inspire event organizers to collaborate and source Tourism Langley stakeholders first, where possible
  • Help event organizers improve/innovate/launch their current or new festival/event within the Township of Langley
