Position: Tourism Project Coordinator/Contract

Tourism Langley is the provincially recognized destination marketing organization and not-for-profit society, governed by an independent Board of Directors who is mandated to deliver effective marketing strategies that will generate increased visitation, extended stays, more revenues and increased daily expenditures for businesses in Langley.
The Tourism Project Coordinator is responsible for ensuring the implementation and execution of three key projects that have been identified to enhance the 2009 marketing season. These unique projects will be used as information publications distributed through the Tourism BC Visitor Centre Network, travel trade and fulfillment requests.
These new community publications are time sensitive and must adhere to design standards and guidelines set forth by Tourism BC and their Community Tourism Opportunities Program®. Working under the guidance of the Executive Director, the Project Coordinator will be responsible for:
- Development and delivery of a Langley Parks & Trail Guide
- Development and delivery of a publication dedicated to the Culinary & Arts of Langley
- Development and delivery of a Historical Guide to Langley
The Tourism Project Coordinator is responsible for ensuring a high level of customer service is provided in the areas of responsiveness, follow through, coordination and communication.
The Tourism Project Coordinator will operate in a semi-autonomous manner with limited supervision from the Executive Director and will work to achieve delivery of the proposed key projects. The Coordinator will also ensure all respectful reporting practices have been successfully completed.
Through the application of strong communication skills, the Project Coordinator will liaise effectively with both internal and external stakeholders.
-Ability to demonstrate your success in developing, managing and reporting on assigned projects. Proven experience in publication development and delivery.Proven experience in the RFP process.
- Demonstrated ability to form strong working relationships.
- Demonstrated self-discipline and experience to work semi autonomously.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, that include preparation of reports and stakeholder correspondence.
- Strong organizational skills that demonstrate attention to detail, accuracy, ability to complete tasks within assigned timelines and reporting on work progress as required.
- Experience in research and analysis. Proven experience in stakeholder consultation Ability to display and support the Tourism Langley set of values
- A strong understanding of the trends in tourism, including the opportunities and challenges and their relevance to Langley and the Fraser Valley.
