Working the Tourism Plan
In just 6 short months, we have worked at implementing the mission set forth by the Tourism Langley Board of Directors. This included the unveiling of our visual brand identity and positioning statement "endless choices". Our brand development has enabled us to set the stage for our strategic advertising and promotional plan.
Endless choices online
Soon to be live, is the official tourism website for Langley www.tourism-langley.ca. This will be the most informative and comprehensive site and will include a focus on the experiences that make our community unique – Agritourism, Wine and Food, Heritage and Culture, Activities and Recreation and Festivals and Events. There will also be a section dedicated to some of the recommended trips within our communities, how to plan your trip and of course, the many services available for the visitor.
Working together
The Marketing Advisory Committee will assist in the development and delivery of our tourism marketing plan and opportunities. The committee met last week with a goal to present a Marketing Plan and Opportunities Guide to the Board of Directors for their August meeting.
The road ahead
Over the course of the next several months we will continue to facilitate tourism relationships within the community and encourage investment in tourism through education and communication to Langley residents. You will also notice a continued investment in advertising and promotion while Tourism Langley works to develop some core marketing campaigns targeted for the 2009 season.
There has been a significant increase in the activities and inquiries at the Langley Visitor Centre these past few weeks and with the heightened marketing by our province to encourage visitor's to explore B.C., and our regional community tourism partners promoting local experiences, Langley is well positioned to boast a successful visitor season.
