Summer is also the season of sangria! Whether you’re sipping it on the patio at the Fort Wine Co., Backyard Vineyards for a Sangria Sunday, or right at home, sangria is the ultimate summer patio drink. Here is a fun and unique Sangria recipe from our friends over at Well Seasoned:

Star Spangled Sangria

2 bottles (750ml) dry, fruity wine
½ c Woodford Reserve Bourbon
½ c Cointreau
3/4c peach nectar
Juice of 1 orange
½ c Bourbon Vanilla Sugar
1.2 c fresh blueberries
1 small carton raspberries
2 star fruit, sliced thin (can substitute with Granny Smith apples)
2 cups carbonated water

Combine all ingredients except fruit. Stir well to dissolve sugar. Chill. Serve over ice, drink, and repeat!
Note: star fruit are not commonly available, so you could use Granny Smith apples cut in star-shapes.

Happy sipping!
