The First of December

December is almost here, and with this holiday month comes a plethora of seasonal activities and events. December 1st itself is packed full of fun things to do for all ages to partake in to celebrate the season. Below is a list of things to do and places to go on the first day of December. Magic of Christmas Parade
December 1
The parade takes place on Fraser Highway between 203 and 207 Streets. Country Christmas follows at the Douglas Recreation Centre with Mayor Fassbender kicking off the “tree lighting” ceremony, entertainment and family activities. Contact tedell@langleycity.ca City of Langley

Winter Farmer’s Market
December 1 (8th & 15th)
Thanks to fall sunshine, farm sales are getting a late boost. This is the year to buy field fresh right into winter. Milner Garden Centre on 216 St in Langley will host an indoor farmers’ market every Saturday until December 15. Drop ‘n’ Shop

Wire and Bead Christmas Ornament Making
December 1
Location: Riverside Community Room 9277 Glover Road 16+ yrs Saturday, December 1 1:00 – 4:00pm 1/$46.75 If you enjoy creating unique, handcrafted Christmas ornaments then this class is for you! Using wire working techniques combined with beads and crystals you will create several beautiful ornaments including an angel and a prism. These make wonderful holiday gifts. No experience necessary. Kwantlen Christmas Craft Fair
December 1 (and 8)
The fair is in the newly renovated boardroom of the Kwantlen Band Office, Gabriel Road on McMillan Island, Fort Langley. Fairs run 10am to 4pm on Dec. 1 and Dec. 8. Table rentals are $20 per day. Info: Walter, 604-376-1374.

Santa Arrives in Fort Langley
December 1
At 6 pm a special guest arrives in a decorated dragonboat accompanied by paddling elves. They make their way to the Fort Langley Community Hall. There he will light the Christmas tree and hear the children’s Christmas wishes. Hot chocolate and cookies courtesy of Wendel’s Bookstore and Cafe will be served. Sponsored by the Fort Langley Community Improvement Society. A free family event.

Holiday Festival on Ice
December 1
The world’s best figure skaters are coming to the Langley Events Centre this coming holiday season.  “Holiday Festival on Ice” celebrates the spirit of the holidays with the Nation’s top skaters.  The skaters will perform holiday-themed routines as part of the program.

St George’s Christmas Bazaar

St. George’s Fort Langley is holding its annual Christmas Bazaar on Saturday, December 1st, 10.00 a.m. to 2.00 p.m. in the hall at 9160 Church St. Ft. Langley.
