A great weekend getaway for the discerning traveler, the region boasts a plethora of memorable experiences waiting to be had. Begin with your preference of either luxury accommodations, quaint bed and breakfasts, or rustic campsites, add in a breathtaking adventure, a relaxed farm tour, or some fun family entertainment and your trip to the Fraser Valley will be one you’ll want to relive again and again. The communities of Langley, Abbotsford and Chilliwack are just a stone’s throw away and are sure to charm your socks off.
This week is the inaugural Canadian Camping Week in Canada. From May 19th until May 24th, Canadian’s are celebrating the beautiful, memory filled adventure that is called camping. I can remember some of my fondest memories coming from my summer camping trips with family. With the weather remaining beautiful for the weekend, why not get out and explore what Langley has to offer for camping.
Ever wanted to camp overnight in a National Historic Site? Tourism Langley sent out our staff member, Sarah, to spend a night in the Birth Place of B.C. Along with three of her closest friends, she tells us her experience.
For many of us it wouldn’t be summer without a camping trip. There’s something about heading out and “getting back to nature” (no matter how many luxuries we take along) that just can’t be beat. Who doesn’t love playing card games at a picnic table, cooking breakfast outside, or eating a s’more with some family or friends? Unfortunately, if you’re like me, you might not have the time to head out on a cross-country road trip. Luckily, Langley has all the facilities you need to have a true “camping experience” without the long drive or hefty fuel bill.
If you’re looking for an unforgettable family adventure without having to leave ‘the Valley,’ I’ve got the perfect trip for your clan — one that will transport you way back in time. And no, a time machine isn’t required for this blast to the past. Starting in May, Fort Langley National Historic Site will once again be welcoming campers to stay overnight in one of their oTENTiks located inside the Fort’s palisade walls.
There’s nothing quite like girls’ night out.
These days, women have a lot on their plates. That’s why it’s so important to take some time for ourselves to spend with the ladies in our lives – girls’ night. I recently had the opportunity to head over to the Cascades Casino Resort for some quality bonding time with my closest girlfriends. Many don’t know it but they offer many wonderful packages for visitors to take advantage of, including their Girls’ Night Out package.
