5 things to do in Central Langley

Categories: Activities & Recreation, Heritage & Culture, Shopping & Services

A few weeks ago we wrote a blog post about 5 things to do in South Langley. Now it’s time to highlight another area in Langley with the hopes of keeping everyone busy as summer winds down. This week it’s time to highlight the central Langley area. First let’s define where I’m talking about. Central Langley isn’t really a defined area within the Langley’s but we like to think of it as the City of Langley North of Brookswood, up to Highway 1 and as far east as about 232 street. Again, no one really calls this central Langley but for the purposes of this blog we needed some borders to keep us grounded. This area is shared by both the City of Langley and the Township and each municipality offer such great things to do within the space provided that we couldn’t not highlight a few of them. So let’s get started with 5 things to do in Central Langley!

Welcome to Langley Vancouver Giants

Categories: Activities & Recreation, Shopping & Services

Summer truly has sped by! It’s already August and September is just around the corner. Autumn in Langley is truly beautiful, the leaves falling, the crisp fall air, but that’s for another blog post. I’m here to talk about the other season that’s coming up… Hockey season! With the falling of leaves also comes the smoothing of ice, the yelling of fans, and the grinding of skates. Fall, however, will be even more special this year as Langley is set to welcome a new organization to their hockey community. The Vancouver Giants of the Western Hockey League are moving to the Langley Events Centre so I thought I’d write a little synopsis on their organization and what it will mean to have them joining the community of Langley!

It seems like just yesterday we were getting into the summer swing of things and now all of a sudden the last full month of summer is upon us. There has already been some great events this summer in Langley but don’t put away your sandals and sunscreen just yet! We still have a full month of events to go that will keep you busy throughout the rest of summer, so you can keep your mind off the fast approaching autumn season (unless you’re looking forward to the fall of course). Oh yes, the Pokemon Go craze is here. For those who have been hiding under a rock for the last few weeks this is Niantic’s new mobile phone game which is based off the popular card and video game series Pokemon. In the game, users follow a virtual map on their phone that tracks their location live via their phone’s GPS. As the player walks, they encounter virtual creatures which they can capture, collect, and battle.

Enjoy a night at your local drive-in movie theatre

Categories: Activities & Recreation, Wine & Food

The glory days of the drive in movie theatre have passed but that doesn’t mean that these great attractions aren’t still around. With only 3 left in BC, Langley is so lucky to have one to call our own. Twilight drive-in is located just off Fraser Highway in Aldergrove but it’s so big that I’m sure you won’t miss it. Open everyday rain or shine Twilight Drive-In is perfect for dates or for a fun family outing. You can’t go wrong with the tradition of the drive-in so be sure to check it out this summer!
